Roger Grace

Song information:

Testing, was developed in the studio.   Roger Grace and Mike Young met at the Studio while engineer John Cox was away working a simultaneous project in Los Angeles.  The ProTools (recording) test session, titled Testing (test track), Although, Roger Grace and Mike Ruiz were studied somewhat and worked as an assistant engineer on this project, they were not confident that they would be able to record, especially, with Mike Ruiz not present. Mike had  working knowledge from his home studio. Thus, the track was titled, Testing.....  After setting-up a single track, Roger turned on the drum machine and tracked the initial foundation.  In the recording industry it is well know, drum machines tend yo usually gain a little or loose a little time on the ProTools grid (not a recommended wat to track). For the interim, ProTools grid editing was required. The click is always recommended.  The first track was laid down with a Martin D-28 and with Mike Young's bass plugged in directly into the board, and the mic, directly into Universal Audio, both wearing head phones.  The following week Mike Ruiz came in and the trio now, continued to track in the cozy control room on a cold winter night. Mike Ruiz was tracked playing one of his electric guitars and playing in various positions and styles on the guitar and multiple tracks.  Later that night, the tracks were emailed to John Cox in Los Angles.  John listened to the track and text back, "that's not bad!"   A few weeks later the group basically expounded on the song in a single secession with John Cox in the control room.  Then, the vocals were added by Roger and Mike from the concept of Testing, where Roger incorporated the standard mic test, as in, "1 - 2 - 3 - 4 testing, then adding testing you, 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 testing, testing me, testing you."  After, molding the song to equate the song to our test here on Earth, which can be seen as, an audition for Heaven.  Where the test is, do you believe in Jesus Christ as your personal Savior?  Do you accept him into your heart? Do you put your faith in him?  Do you ask him to forgive you of your sins? Are you baptized in the Holy Spirit? Are you seeking him? Do you have a personal relationship with him? Are you transforming to be like Jesus?  We believe, this is the test, we  must all pass..... John 10:27....Jesus said, "My sheep will listen to my voice."  John 13:34.... When Jesus was telling his disciples that he was going away and where he was going they couldn't go. Then, He said, "But, I'm giving you a new command. You must love each other, just as I have loved you.  If you love each other, everyone will know that you are my disciples. And, then this applies to us.
